Shopping, but smarter

Fetch Rewards helps shoppers save money and improves the efficiency of rewards programs, benefiting both the user and the brands they love.

While at Loeb NYC, one of our new portfolio companies had a product that was a top 100 shopping app in the App Store and a loyal user base, but had a lot of room for improvement. I led a 2 week design sprint to create a proof of concept that would eventually allow us to complete a full redesign of the brand, app, and website.

My role: Lead Product Designer

Goal

Create a fun, simple and beautiful experience for users to earn shop and earn rewards

Discovery

To understand the problems of our current onboarding experience, we met with our internal Investor Relations team and client support team since they are the communication between the clients and PMs.

The companies listed about let the product speak for itself. They use simple, informative design to highlight key features.

There is not one direct competitor that is so much better than the rest

Potential to really stand out from the competition by focusing on really well done storytelling, simple, fun design

The two biggest things we could focus on the best benefit to Fetch - shop normally and get rewards. We want users to say “wait, I can get that?!”

Solution

In the short 2 weeks, we designed a demo that made it much easier for users to take a picture of their receipt, and really celebrated the rewards a user could earn or has earned by simply shopping everyday items. What we were able to show eventually become the foundation for the larger redesign.
